Published to mark the centenary of György Kurtág’s birth, One-to-One contrasts the Hungarian composer’s miniatures with Bach’s chorales, which he transcribed himself, in a close dialogue between the two voices. Recorded in the intimate setting of an unconventional venue rather than in a traditional studio, the project creates a dialogue between contemporary music and early music, oscillating between contemplation and playfulness.
