Bertrand Chamayou and Leif Ove Andsnes combine their talents in an album entirely devoted to Schubert’s four-hand works from the composer’s final year, centred on the Fantasy in F minor, D.940. The two pianists have been performing together since 2016, the year in which Andsnes invited Chamayou to the Rosendal Chamber Music Festival in Norway. This interpretation comes forty years after that of Lupu and Perahia, and sixty years after that of Britten and Richter.
